Karrie Hillis is an award winning photographer residing in McMinnville, Tennessee. She attended East Tennessee State University studying photography and received her BA in Interior Design from Middle Tennessee State University. It was during college that she took her first photography class and discovered that she had an eye for the unusual. After college she moved to southern California to pursue her design career. She landed a job designing model homes for KB Home; a job that eventually relocated her to Atlanta. While in Atlanta she was promoted to Design Consultant working with the Martha Stewart inspired home collection. She also enrolled in a local photography class and rediscovered her love for the camera. It has become her passion. Karrie takes an array of unique photographs including portraits, weddings, pets, still life, architecture, special events, and whatever catches her eye.
Karrie loves to travel, and does so often, taking beautiful photos of different people and places. She travels to take pictures for her own personal art preferences as well as for clients. Some of her favorite photographers include: Pamela Hanson, Diane Arbus, Walker Evans and Philippe Halsman.
